Community Relations

The Grand Victoria Casino made the extraordinary decision to commit 20 percent of its annual adjusted net operating income to programs that benefit greater Elgin, Kane County and the State of Illinois. Of that 20%, 12.5% is directed to the Grand Victoria Foundation (the "Foundation") and 7.5% is directed to the Kane County Board.

The Foundation was formed to manage and administer the funds from the Grand Victoria. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a sustainable source of support for education, environmental and economic development programs.

Grants are distributed by the Foundation Board of Directors, which is composed of the principals of the Grand Victoria Casino and local community leaders. The Foundation accepts grant applications from not-for-profit organizations whose programs and services are consistent with the Foundation's grant-making interests.

The Grand Victoria Casino has contributed over $139.7 million to the Foundation since the Foundation's establishment. In addition, an estimated $83.8 million has been disbursed to Kane County. Since opening in 1994, over $38 million has been paid to the City of Elgin for property rent and $5.5 million has been directed to the Kane County Forest Preserve for improvements along the Fox River.

The Grand Victoria Casino also generates millions in annual state and local tax revenues providing economic support for the State of Illinois, Kane County and the City of Elgin.
